<p>Hi! My name is Janice Karin. I am in my mid-twenties. I work as a technical writer for a software company. I currently live in a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts. I have also lived in New Mexico, Philadelphia, Chicago, Western Massachusetts, and several places in New York. I have two degrees in physics - a Master's Degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Chicago.</p> <p>About two years ago I bought a PalmPilot Professional from 3Com. It has been my constant companion since then. Sure, I use the built-in applications like the Address Book and Date Book, but mainly I use a variety of databases to catalogue my books, CDs, video tapes, and to track restaurants I like to eat in, bus schedules, movie schedules, stock prices, and the money I spend. I also love to play many of the multitude of games available and reading etexts, particularly during my commute.</p> <p>More than a year ago, I bought an 8MB upgrade card for my Pilot, which came with an upgrade to OS3. I now carry several books and several MB of data on my pilot and still have room for all of the games I love to play.</p> <p>I have also started developing applications for the Palm computing platform using PocketC, a C compiler for the Pilot. I haven't finished any applications yet, but I am enjoying learning the ins and outs of PocketC and hope to have an application or two to show for it soon.</p> <p>When not engrossed in work or playing games on my Pilot, I find time to go to the movies, the theater, museums, and the occasional sporting event. I am a rabid New York Mets fan (mentioning this always causes a lovely glare from my co-workers here in Boston) and a casual Washington Redskins fan.</p> <p>I also spend a lot of time online. In the past this was mostly limited to surfing the web and reading news, but I recently started spending time on IRC as quasar. In addition to hanging out in #palmchat on the openprojects network, I have been know to spend hours at a time playing trivia in #jeopardy on ChatNet to relax after work.</p>
