I am a Yogi teaching and practicing in Los Angeles. I have been practicing and studying Yoga for eleven years now. It has brought me such tremendous benefit that I feel compelled to share what I have learned with others and perhaps bring the benefits of Yoga Sadhana to them as well. I have learned from many different teachers here in the Los Angeles area and have practiced all of the major styles of Yoga: Iyengar, Astanga, Bikram, Anusara, Kundalini, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow and others. The teachings and practices from these and many other sources, including Buddhism and Taoism, are distilled into my own practice which I call Pranayoga. As a Yogi, the Practice that I teach is the practice that I live. As I practice and live and become aware, I pass the lessons on to others. Nothing gives me greater joy than to have others benefit from whatever realization I may receive from Isvara, the inner teacher. Sutra 1.2 of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras reads: Yogash citta vritti nirodah; Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind. The practice of Yoga is a vehicle for fulfilling this. As Yoga editor at Suite101 I will do my best to engender an environment conducive to the enlightenment of readers and memebers. Some Teachers which have influenced my practice include Jack Kornfield, Thich Nhat Hanh and Sogyal Rinpoche. I am a member of the California Yoga Teachers Association (CYTA). Currently I am teaching classes at Studio Work Out Club in Studio City, Sky Sport & Spa in Beverly Hills and Charyok School of Martial Arts in Valley Village. I also teach private and semi-private classes and accept Home and Workplace Visit appointments as well. |
