Originally from the south suburbs of Chicago, Porcshe began her journalism career as a staff writer for the Homewood-Flossmoor High School newspaper, the Voyager. During this time she was honored with an award from the Quill and Scroll society. Outside of newspaper, Porcshe played the cello in the H-F orchestra, was vice president of her high school’s Model United Nations team and also played on the junior varsity golf team. Porcshe gave back to her community as a Key Club International volunteer and vice president of the Junior Board at The Jennifer S. Fallick Cancer Support Center.

Upon graduating from high school, Porcshe went on to attend the University of Missouri. During her freshman year, she participated in the Women in Journalism Freshman Interest Group (FIG) and became a staff writer for the campus newspaper, The Maneater. She was later promoted to senior staff writer and covered stories for both The Maneater and its arts and entertainment supplement MOVE. As a college student, Porcshe has successfully completed rigorous coursework, acted as secretary for the University of Missouri Magazine Club, worked as a volunteer for organizations like Habitat for Humanity and interned at various on and off-campus media outlets.

In 2007, Porcshe was accepted into the Missouri London Program. In addition to acceptance into the program, Porcshe was also awarded a competitive $3,000 travel scholarship from the Missouri School of Journalism. Porcshe spent her spring 2008 semester studying at London’s acclaimed Imperial College and working as an editorial intern at Retail Jeweller magazine.

Porcshe will graduate from the Missouri School of Journalism in December 2008. She is excited to start the next chapter of her life and continue pursuing her dream career in the journalism/media industry.
