Pamela Mooman
I am an award-winning writer and editor.
I have more than 19 years of experience working in a variety of subjects and environments. I began my career at my hometown daily newspaper, covering a wide range of subjects from professional football to local murders and floods.
From there I moved on to San Antonio, where I began a freelance writing and editing career that continues to this day. Intertwined with my personal clients were contract jobs and staff positions ranging from daily and weekly newspapers and magazines to corporate public relations to working with a non-profit literary organization to editing standardized tests. A true writer's resume!
I have worked a great deal covering medicine and the health care industry, and I am very interested in a holistic approach to healing, as well as mental health issues and advances in mental health care.
I love to garden and create a comfortable home setting, since it is my living and working space, and I have written about gardening and home decorating for years.
I am a member of the Jane Austen Society of North America, and I am a huge fan of her work, her life, her times, everything.
In addition to my journalistic work, I also write creatively and have had poems and short stories published. I am seeking an agent to represent my first novel, which takes place mostly in my beloved Britain, from where my family originates.
Naturally, I am interested in the literary culture and have had the privilege of meeting some of today's most successful, distinguished writers and poets, as well as plenty of hard-working writers such as myself, juggling a "normal" life with their creativity.
I look forward to introducing some of these writers to you, as well as sharing the joys of Jane Austen and other favourite writers.
Whilst I am proud of the awards and honors I have won and achieved, the writing is the most important part to me. I love language, I love communication, and I look forward to sharing with you for a long time to come.
Cheers!
