A writer, teacher and classical pianist, Anya Laurence has had three books published, as well as many articles in various magazines and newspapers and on the internet.

The winner of theAmicus Poloniae award from Poland Magazine for the prize-winning article about harpsichordist Wanda Landowska and the St.Cecilia Medal for music, she also received the National Music Clubs Award for the book "Women of Notes, 1,000 Women Composers Born Before the Year 1900," Other topics covered have been biography, music, women's studies, New England history, humor, New Age, health and many other topics. Anya Laurence's piano recital debut was given in Carnegie Hall, New York, in 1978.

"Women of Notes: 1,000 Women Composers Born Before 1900 " Richards RosenPress, NYC 1978,was her first book, which was followed by "The House of the Bass Clef"," an educational manual for piano students.

Laurence's latest book," Love Divine: The Life of Henry Ward Beecher," was published in 2005 by iUniverse Press.

Anya was blessed to have had the opportunity to travel extensively, and she really loves to write about all she has seen and experienced. Now a resident of Canada, for many years she lived in New York and New England and absorbed as much of the regional culture as she possibly could!
