Nikon and Canon have carved out a niche at the top of the photojournalists DSLRs market where performance is more important than price. Phil Northeast is a versatile journalist, photographer and web designer based in Hobart, the capital of Australia’s idyllic island state, Phil’s passions for the written word and motorsport combined in 2001 when Phil joined suite 101.com covering Australian V8 Supercar racing. This led to Phil completing a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Journalism at the University of Tasmania. After thirty years with Australia’s major telecommunications company Phil formed his own media business Northeast Media and provides web site development and management and photographic services. Phil recently joined Ozimages International, a stock phootgrpahy library. Phil also earned an Associate Diploma in Applied Science (Computing) in 1995, providing a solid foundation in the nuts and bolts of web design and digital photo processing. Phil’s range of interests are evident in a passion for photography. Initially photography combined with motor sport and Phil’s photography credits include KartOz and Kart Magazine as well as national motor sport magazines Motorsport News and Auto Action. His images have also appeared in the Circular Head Chronicle, and on the web at kartpic.com. Phil currently publishes a number of his own websites About Tasmania- a topical view of his home state and, a viewfinder darkly - a mixture of photographic articles and picture collections. |
