Philippa Rowlands, writer for the Australia, New Zealand and Oceania travel section of Suite 101 is a professional freelance writer, educator and jack -of-all-trades.
Philippa has written in areas as diverse as travel, science, nature, pregnancy and family, promotions and publicity, children and adolescent, health, creative and poetry.
Philippa has travelled the world solo, as a couple with her partner and as a family with her childen. Australia, New Zealand and Oceania hold a particular fascination for her. Born and bred in Australia she has travelled extensively throughout her own country and has become an expert in destinations such as Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and New South Wales. Her most extensive travel writing has been about Tasmania, in particular the Hobart area, and the Yarra Valley, Dandenongs and surrounds, in Victoria.
Philippa is naturally curious, which has lead to extensive reading and research, the discovery of wonderful places to visit, places to eat and things to do, as well as discussions with people from all walks of life. In this way she writes articles from a variety of perspectives.
When she is not travel writing for Suite 101 she balances her other creative aspirations with family time, playing, reading, bush walking, cooking, gardening, and camping.
