Previous info as writer for Lizards, Turtles and Snakes as well as course developer for Writing Letters/Resumes and Job Searches...or how to get that dream job and keep it!

As a professional writer and trainer, I find the hardest thing to write about is myself. Suite 101 has given me many opportunites and I have read with interest the various articles penned by Contributing Editors. Now it's payback time. Reading their personal submissions and sharing of information has given me the courage to be a Contributing Editor as well.

After 5 years of raising Bearded Dragons we (family) finally had a successful clutch (two in fact). The lack of proper information given us by retail reptile stores as well as the lack of substantial information on the Internet (with a few excellent exceptions) has prompted me to try and help others in all areas of reptiles. Our menagerie at the moment consists of 5 adult dragons, 4 juveniles, one bird, one hamster, 2 turtles, one fish - and a whole bunch of critters that make their home and nests in our woodpile, trees, and house (I just saw the baby bunnies having a chew on our garden).

Education? Constantly updating. But my background is Communications/Psychology (Honours BA - yes, I'm Canadian if you noticed the spelling) and Journalism (degree). I do contract work with computers (training, adult education, writing manuals and courses, technical writing, programming, virtual admin, etc.) I am also one of the contributing authors for SuiteU - don't forget to check out the fascinating courses in just about everything!

Favourite reads? Sci Fi and Fantasy, Classics, mystery/murders, anything with print as my husband says.

To Be Continued......

**UPDATE** We are now the proud owners of a pair of breeding (meaning male and female) Uromastyx (Mali) and a conure! Unfortunately, we lost one turtle.

**Update June 2003** - Well, we have a total of 4 red eared sliders, our dragons have grown and now number 3 adults (General, Crystal, Zrt - we lost Sundance and Angel - keep well, both of you) 5 juvies (Iggle, Zeus, Ginger, Lt. Jackson, and Drago who is the only one not hatched from our batches) and 5 babies (Quasi and Burrow, the other 3 will be sold). Birds now encompass 3 conures, 3 budgies, 2 finches. We also have a mini-rex rabbit inside the home!

Update - hmmm, it has been awhile. March 2005

Main contracts now include being a College Professor, as well as a Dean at SuiteU in Computers/Technology.

We lost Crystal recently - and Lt. Jackson passed away last year - she was the daughter of General Jackson - we miss them both dreadfully. Conures now number 5 - finches down to one - (Honey's tumour burst). Mini-rexes numbered two, then we lost the first one (Tappy) to a sudden illness.

Update: October 2005

Please note - some changes are happening at Suite, and if you can't find me at Suite - just contact me at:

paymb26@yahoo.com

but please put Suite in the subject line!

- Well, conures are up to six - but we lost one (Res - short for Resident Evil - the best conure we've ever seen - would sleep on my husband's chest with him in bed) and gain another two - Tuck and Quill. ZRT finally passed on to her friends - the original five are now together again, and we have their children and grandchildren. Beardies now total six, and the two Mali's are still into everything. Turtles are still at four - and another one may be a female, judging from her behaviour. My, they have grown!

Update - April 3, 2006 - yes, I'm back, but in the Education & Career Section.

We now have a small amazon parrot (that actually started talking the day we brought her/him (to be determined) home)....and a chinchilla - I'm convinced these furry things have springs in their tiny paws!

Keep well, our extended family - take care of each other.
