Dr Dean Anthony Gratton is an author/writer and telecommunications consultant.
Dean has worked within the telecommunications industry for over fourteen years and has provided consultancy to a number of high profile companies in addition to actively contributing to a number of technology committees. Dean is a published author and writer within the telecommunications domain.
He has authored a number of books and contentious articles on wireless technology and has begun work on his fourth book, namely Wireless Convergence: The Technology and its Impact on the Consumer.
Dean was an Editor of the Specification of the Bluetooth System: Profiles, v1.1 (the original specification) and has recently joined Suite101.com, as a contributing writer. In fact, Dean was the first author to offer an invaluable insight into Bluetooth application development with his first book, Bluetooth Profiles: The Definitive Guide (2002). Dean has also been an editorial contributor to Incisor Magazine (www.incisor.tv) for over a year now.
In his latest book, Developing Practical Wireless Applications (Digital Press, an imprint of Elsevier), 2007 - Dean has been critically acclaimed by Barnes & Noble who describe his book as "accessible enough for business decision makers, detailed enough for technologists, occasionally opinionated enough to keep everyone on their toes. Dean holds a BSc (Hons) Psychology and a doctorate in Telecommunications.
