Omar Bobb-Semple, John Bradley

Omar Bobb-Semple has made Los Angeles, CA his home for the last four years. This New York City native sought fame and fortune, but instead discovered peace and tranquility within the confines of a Long Beach Boys and Girls Club, helping to shape the lives of countless youth and teenagers. This desire to show the youth that there is success beyond a professional sports career or a singing contract prompted him to pursue his own dreams of becoming a radio and television personality.

Before sunny southern California became his perch, Omar studied Communication at the State University of New York at Buffalo, earning a B.A. in the field along with a minor in English. While there, he contributed regularly to the school newspaper's Entertainment and Lifestyle columns, interned at the campus radio station/NPR affiliate WBFO, and played saxophone with the marching and pep bands for two years, helping to usher in the new era of UB Bulls Division I status.

After graduation Omar interned at Pacifica Radio station WBAI in New York City, and became assistant editor at Black DIASPORA magazine, the publication he interned for every summer of college. After three years with the company, Omar felt the Hollywood itch and embarked on the 3,000-mile journey that would change his life.

Omar has alwyas been a strong advocate for youth, serving as Executive Director of R. Stanley Pettiford Rites of Passage Program in Jamaica, NY, an organization he was a charter member of since he was 14 years of age. He has also been a branch director of Teen Programs at the Eastman/Fairfield Boys & Girls Club in Long Beach, CA from 2007-08 before earning a spot at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Universal City, CA. He one day hopes to return to serving youth by helping those interested in broadcasting to achieve their dreams.
