Your favorite vices like junk food, soda pop, tobacco and alcohol are already heavily taxed. Now, some are calling for the same tariff on meat.
My name is Jill and I am the Feature Writer for Vegetarian Cuisine. In addition to vegetarian issues, I also research and write about food, nutrition, science, and the environment. My work has been published on several websites, and in the print magazine Organic Earth. My interest in the above topics is a result of an early fascination with nutrition. It was amazing to me - and still is - that our society knows so much about foods and health, yet remains compelled to ignore practical advice that could improve our lives. More than seven years ago, nutrition led me to vegetarianism and I haven't looked back since. I pursued my passions through an Honours Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Health Science in Nutrition Communication. My goals through writing are to ask the hard questions about the role of food in our lives, and about our roles in the lifecycle of food.
