As a free-lance writer for over 20 years, Noreen Mulcahy has written music and restaurant reviews as well as feature articles for Ohio Magazine, Cleveland Scene, Dirty Linen and The Columbus Dispatch. Early in her writing career, she published a travel piece on her trip to Cancun for an Ohio newspaper, The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram. It was her first paying article.
Mulcahy teaches creative writing at The Thurber House, a museum and writing center located in an historic home and former residence of writer James Thurber and his family. Topics of her classes include review writing, family humor and ghost stories.
Working as a public librarian, Mulcahy maintained the audio book collection and children’s music for the media department. She provided patrons with reader’s guides and other publications highlighting the library’s vast collection.
Music, movies and books are her primary passions. Through her articles for Suite 101, she hopes to instill an excitement for these topics and develop a loyal readership.
