Sharyn Skeeter

Sharyn Skeeter has been fiction/poetry/book review editor at Essence and editor in chief at Black Elegance. Her poetry and other writing have appeared in literary journals, anthologies, and magazines. She was a judge of the United Negro College Fund's poetry competition and the Association for Black Journalists awards.

She had a poetry segment, "Poetry Kaleidoscope," on a public radio network. She was also a judge for Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and Star Search.

She was director of administration at the New England Center for International and Regional Studies, where she worked with a former president of the U.N. General Assembly.

Sharyn has degrees in literature and business, and has also studied media, acting, and screenwriting. She teaches college mass communication, creative writing and literature. She is working on a novel and a collection of poetry.

Sharyn Skeeter lives in the New York City metro area with her husband, son and cat. She also enjoys creating fiber art and jewelry.
