Nate Cavalieri

Nate Cavalieri writes about travel and music and lives in Northern California. He has authored a handful of titles for Lonely Planet including recent guides to Chicago, California and Puerto Rico. He is the co-author of Volunteer: A Travelers Guide To Making A Difference Around The World. His first experience combining volunteering and travel was at the Pop Wu School in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.

Nate was recently selected to ride with a team of Lonely Planet authors and bicyclists in the 2009 Tour d' Afrique, an expedition bicycle trip that runs in stages from Egypt to Cape Horn and supports a foundation to provide bicycles to non-profit organizations and non-governmental organizations in Africa.
