Michelle da Silva Richmond - Profile

Michelle da Silva Richmond is a freelance travel writer and editor and a member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), American Society of Journalists and Authors and New England Writers.

As travel editor of The News (Mexico's only English language daily) she was awarded the Lowell Thomas Prize by SATW for her travel section. She co-authored the Crown Insider's Guide to Mexico and has contributed to Fisher's, Frommer's and Fodor's Guides to Mexico.

She is currently on staff at Hartford magazine and she freelances for inflight magazines such as Hemispheres and Continental as well as publications such as: Bride's, Bridal Guide, AAA Western NY, Jax Fax and many others. Her travel articles have appeared in leading newspapers in the US, Mexico and Europe.

Travel has always been in her blood, having grown up in Brazil, Portugal, Guatemala and living during her adult years in Mexico and Colombia as well as in the US.

She promises to take readers on interesting journeys where she'll delve into the history, customs, legends, lore and cuisine ... among other things... of some of her favorite destinations.
