Ashlea Collis

Ms. Collis is a freelance writer and currently manages a retail store in Ottawa, Ontario. She recently completed her Honours Journalism degree from Carleton University and is working towards becoming a published author with a book of her poetry.

Ms. Collis is interested in a variety of topics, and enjoys writing on what she knows. Her favourite subjects include wedding planning, human interest and entertainment. In her spare time, she enjoys watching "24", writing, and spending time with her fiancé Eric, and their cat Tigger and dog Elmo.

Awards:

Ms. Collis was the 3rd place recipient of the Fraser MacDougall Journalism Prize for her article on the Canadian government and the Access to Information and Privacy Act.

Ms. Collis was an award winner with the National Library of Poetry, and was published in their anthology Sands of Time.
