M.L. Costa

M.L.Costa is a graduate of Oxford University, where she obtained an honors degree in history. She also holds academic qualifications in English literature and psychology.

Working as a writer since before she could spell, her first professional writing job was as a child film and theater reviewer. She has consistently written arts reviews ever since. Her interest in history stemmed from her desire to learn the background behind many of her other interests, which vary from the arts to the social sciences.

Nicknamed by school friends as “The Human History Book,” her historical writing has won The Duke of Marlborough’s Heritage Award and other honors. After three years of writing a well-received history column for a small print publication of her hometown, she contributed to the writing of a now published book, covering a brief history of select musical instruments. Being a percussionist herself and a life-long supporter of musical theater, she was particularly pleased to take part in the project.
