Growing up, I have always been a curious child with a penchant for the creative world. So it was no surprise to see me reading the encyclopaedia almost cover to cover, and asking the incessant question "Why-?"
I had my first two published articles in a local newspaper and school magazine when I was 9. However, my pursuit of a career in journalism was taken over by an accidental career in Film and Television. Since then, I have worked on numerous productions as a director, producer and/or scriptwriter covering topics like travel and culture, technology, women's issues, lifestyle and relationships; for talk shows, magazine programmes, travelogues, children shows, sitcoms, dramas and a feature film in the last seven years.
Work in the TV & Film industry has also given me the opportunity to ignite my passion for travel and wander throughout my homeland Malaysia, Indonesia's West Java and to Japan. Not forgetting to mention my own mixed heritage of Chinese-Malaysian, Thai and Filipino cultures will also be the basis of my travel writings for Suite 101.
Besides being an idiot box or celluloid slave, I am also a techno-savvy geek who has maintained a personal blog for over six years, enjoys reading Jostein Gaarder and Paulo Coelho, watching independent European films and thinking too much.
Although currently living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I am in transition of uprooting myself to Sydney, Australia where I will join my cartoonist fiancé, whom I met on the Internet.
Ain't technology grand?
