A passionate historian, Michelle, holds both a Bachelor and Master of Arts in the field. She was awarded while in her program for her academic excellence, was the acting president of her Phi Alpha Theta chapter, and sat on the Graduate Advisory Council. Given a wonderful opportunity Michelle was able to participate on a grant funded project designed to help educators better teach history. Following the completion of her Master’s she began teaching at the college level, working at various colleges she has been able to focus her concentration on American history. Her research interests include the Early Republic period, the American Civil War, and the Progressive Era, with an emphasis on women’s history. Michelle currently resides in Washington State with her husband and daughter.
