Michael Mackey is a freelance journalist which gives him a lot of scope to write about trade, business and occasionally politics as well as travel and books.
Over twenty years of daily journalism have given him a wide range of experiences to draw upon as have postings in cities as diverse as Brussels, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, Santiago and Lima whilst working for a range of publications.
These ranged from local newspapers to trade publications where the readership knew as much about the subject matter as the reporters to national dailies such as The Times, The Sunday Times and The Daily Telegraph who needed someone on the ground who knew what was happening.
Somewhere along the way he also found time to write, not once but twice, parts of the Rough Guide to Hong Kong and to be part of the team that worked on the 2002 FIFA World Cup wesbite one of the most visited sites in the history of the world.
