Melanie Benfield

Melanie is a freelance writer for the local newspapers in Southwest Florida. She writes for the School Spotlight Column for the weekly newspaper, The Collier Citizen. In the past she has attended and reported on events for the Naples Daily News and reviewed restaurants for the Marco Etc. She is a native of North Carolina, however, moved to Florida at the young age of 15. She is an avid book reader of both fiction and non-fiction genres, which include but are not limited to science, history, science fiction, children’s books, adventure, Christian fiction and non-fiction.
