I am currently a freelance writer for Suite101 with my BA in English and a minor in History.

I have studied several languages including Japanese, Russian, French, and German. I plan to continue my education in German and go on to earn my MA. I have a strong intrest in language and grammar and how these two combine to shape culture.

I have been writing for a very long time for various organizations including newspapers, contests, and honorary classes before graduating from college. I also write a great deal of personal material which I am always revising and somewhat reluctant to share until it is fine-tuned.

Publication is a goal in my future.

My areas of interest in writing pertain to literature, mental health awareness, history, language, the arts, and sometimes the occasional review. I also enjoy writing about the highlights of areas of the Midwest and exploring the history and ethnicity of the early settlers to this region of the United States which is my home.

I am most familiar with analyzing and reporting on classical literature and I enjoy finding the endless amounts of new meanings that can be gained through numerous readings of famous works and authors.

I have a strong love of German literature, language, and history and spend a lot of time discrediting faulty translations of Rilke, Goethe, and Kafka.

I have a history in blogging, but mostly my topics deal with language, culture, and mental health issues as opposed to current events since I am unwilling to risk sounding too judgemental.

Currently my blog is under construction, as I am doing some editing to bring my writing up to higher standards since many of my posts were for personal enjoyment and exploration and I did not expect a consistant reader base.
