Mckenzie Cassidy

I'm a reporter for a community newspaper in Southwest Florida, where I report on local issues involving a school district with 80,000 students and a hospital system with hospital campuses and thousands of employees.

Besides my day job in the straightforward world of reporting, I also dabble in other publications including contributions to an alternative quarterly magazine based in New York City called Pomp and Circumstance. It is an up-and-coming publication that features non-fiction, fiction, art news and blogs on city culture.

I have broad interests in education, books that include poetry, fiction or non-fiction, films ranging from classics to science fiction, and I look forward to writing as much as possible.

In the past I also wrote for Neo-Vox, an online student magazine that covered news, feature stories, film reviews and other creative forms of literary expression at the State University of New York at Cortland.
