Matt McFarland is currently twenty-three years old. He resides in a small town nestled deep in the heart of Appalachia. He is a full-time college student, a part-time chef, a part-time poker player, and a part-time freelance writer.
Matt majors in Humanities and minors in Mass Communications and Writing. He has also taken journalism courses online at News University.
Matt writes fiction, poetry, and song lyrics in his spare time. He has posted essays, short stories, and song lyrics online at Ultimate-Guitar.com and DeviantArt.com as punkrockconcept. Matt is currently working on two novellas entitled Oblivion! and The Road to Fifth Street, and the memoir, Poker Stories chronicalling a year of playing online poker. He plays under the username AreAlmAdmAn on Full Tilt Poker.
Matt also posts a weeklyblog called Lavishwriting under the psuedonym Dylan Lavish, a name surmised from Bob Dylan and a word meaning decadence. Topics include poker, life, and anything in between.
Matt's hobbies include winning (and losing) at poker, watching and analyzing movies, listening to and analyzing music, playing guitar, photography, and digital art. His interests besides writing and poker include NASCAR, House M.D., and a fond fascination with fire (pyromania!).
