Mary Rayme is a graphic designer and arts educator with a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.

Determined to be a librarian (or at least someone swimming in books) Mary worked in the libraries of the Baltimore Museum of Art and Johns Hopkins University. Later, Mary was lured by the idea of a bigger paycheck to work in the field of publishing & advertising in Baltimore then later in Philadelphia.

Mary lives somewhere in Appalachia and started her own design studio. In 2004, Mary co-wrote and co-produced Inspired Folk: Outsider Artists of West Virginia along with Gerry Milnes. The film was funded through a grant from the the WV Humanities and the Augusta Heritage Center.

Mary works as a grants writer and administrator for the Staunton-Parkersburg Turnpike Alliance, walks her dog Carlos on a beautiful bike path, and spends all winter thinking about the incredibly beautiful WV summers that are too short. Thinking about art, visiting museums, and writing about art occupy her brain most of the time.
