If you are reading this then you must be a history buff. History is "my thing." I belong to a number of historical societies, most recently as the director of fundraising and

public relations for our local historical society. How would

you like to be able to hit politicians with a pie in the face?

We did! and all in the name of charity for our society. A lot of

fun!

Hi everyone. My name is Mary Haegele and I hail originally from

Canada. I met my husband on the Internet, so now I live in Wisconsin. Yes, it's true. Internet marriages do work - we couldn't be happier. We both have an interest in history. I am the publisher/editor of the Upper Midwest Historian and my husband writes articles for my journal as do I. I have written,

let me think, about 16 books (losing track), many, many articles, poetry, greeting cards. I've been a reporter and columnist for a very small newspaper and now I write on the 'net. I write about museums, history and history museums. Drop me a line any time and let me know what you think of my articles

posted here.

I am university educated. Four grown children - one grandchild.

My son and three daughters are all computer literate, although

mom just might be a little more so than some of them. I've been

hanging around the 'net now since '91 - actually before it was

the 'net. Actually before freenets! when you only had libraries

to dial up all over the world. So that's what I did at 4 in the

morning - I roamed the virtual shelves of libraries!

I like to swim and oil paint. Last summer I went swimming, but

still haven't got to my painting in the last while. Too busy

writing, and being on the net. My cat sleeps on my printer, just to be close to me because I LIVE, literally LIVE in my office.

When I'm not on the 'net, I am at my computer writing - right

now I have 4 unfinished pieces on the go. When I'm not on the'net and I'm not writing or designing a book cover, or dreaming up a new book or article idea, then I find an hour

here or there for TV. Remember TV? I particularly like the

X files (who doesn't?) I also enjoy the Guinness Records show,

Deep Space Nine, Voyageur. I occasionally get a chance to READ

something too! I do a lot of reading actually - collecting information for articles and so on. Right now my light bedtime

reading is a book called "Back To Spartan". I'm into science fi

you see. But enough about me - go read some of the great articles on Suite101.com! Regards Mary Haegele
