This week's papers noted Princeton ranked number 1 in the U.S. News and World Report Rankings. Are we surprised?

I am married and am the mother of two rapidly growing, rambunctious children. I am the youngest of three children raised by a single parent and am the first in my family to earn a bachelor's degree. I know well the struggles and triumphs associated with the pursuit of higher education.

Since first graduating with a Bachelor´s of Business Administration in 1994, I have made the promotion of workforce development and higher education my full-time avocation. I have spent the last 12 years employed in workforce development, career guidance and student services (admissions and financial aid).

Between family, graduate school--where I'm currently finishing a doctoral program--and my full-time paying job, I also work part-time as an Independent Education Consultant with Hill Country ECS (http://hillcountryecs.net), to help promote college and financial aid awarenes.

Though life is challenging and my schedule rather hectic, I still strive to take time out to smell the roses. My favorite past-times are writing, trips to the zoo and museums with family, and "vegging out" in the backyard with the kids, dog, peacock, wading pool and a good sprinkler.
