My teenage son is a bike racer and very good at it. He races on the road and in the velodrome. He came in 9th at track nationals this past summer and has a great chance of becoming national champion this summer.

I have been taking him to many local races, both road and track, and have learned a lot about the process, the training, the equipment and the mentality and am learning more all the time. I am currently a board member for the Lehigh Wheelmen Cycling club ( http://www.enter.net/~lehighwheelmen ). I also help out with the junior section of the club acquiring grants and sponsorships for the kids, helping with local races and encouraging the kids.

My son and I are fans of professional bike racing also. We TIVO'd and watched every minute of the Tour de France and sometimes record local bike races as well. We are at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome ( http://www.lvvelo.org/ )that is run by Marty Nothstein and Erin Hartwell, both well known names in cycling.

I would love to use this site to create a bike racing site that tells about the in's and out's of bike racing and also give news on what's going on in the world of cycling.
