Lorin Wilkerson

Lorin Wilkerson has been a musician since childhood and is passionate about early music, especially that of the Baroque period. He has studied piano, mandolin and voice and lives in Portland, Oregon, where he sings baritone with the Portland Symphonic Choir and the Bach Cantata Choir, on whose board of directors he serves. He is the editor and principal contributor of historical articles to BachBeat, the newslettter of the BCC.

Wilkerson received his B.A. in Russian Language and Literature from Portland State University, and is a freelance writer in the classical and alternative/indie music scenes in Portland. A long-time beer connoisseur, he brews his own beer and writes about craft beer and classical music for Primer Magazine. He is active as a music critic and is one of the contributors to Northwest Reverb, a widely-read blog covering classical music in the Pacific Northwest.
