Lori Nash



Feature Writer - Inter-Child Relationships

By profession, Lori is a marriage and family therapist working with couples, families, children, teens and adults in Northwestern Washington State. She also writes Web content, public relations materials, ad copy, and other promotional materials.

In her therapeutic work with clients, she uses several modalities to help people learn to resolve conflict, communicate effectively, increase their emotional intelligence, enhance understanding, intimacy and sexuality in their relationships and thrive in their current daily life, despite a history of trauma and even abuse. Parenting classes and therapeutic talking circles are also part of her work.

She works with a network of integrative health care providers such as naturopathic physicians and nurse practitioners, acupuncturists, chiropractors, nutritionists and massage therapists to provide holistic care for her clients.

Lori is also certified to teach the Native Wellness Institute’s Healthy Relationships program and is a trained facilitator for the Strengthening Families program.

Prior to becoming a counselor, Lori earned a BA in journalism from the University of Minnesota, and for 25 years worked writing advertising copy, news and feature stories and public information materials both in print and on the Web. She has written for private corporations and government entities, such as Hewlett-Packard, Burlington Northern Railroad, the Washington State Utilities and Transportation Commission's "Operation Lifesaver" program and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Lori has a passion for animals and the environment. She is also a Master Gardener focusing on organics, an avid cook, and is married with three grown children.
