Laura Everage

After spending more than a decade as editor of the trade magazine The Gourmet Retailer, I left to build my own career as a writer specializing in food and kitchenware.

During my time at the magazine, I focused on all aspects of the specialty food and kitchenware industries, often visiting factories and farms throughout the world to learn about how products are made, their history, and the people who produce them. Topics I have covered vary from specialty cheese and condiments to cutlery, cookware and kitchen gadgets.

In 2000, I was presented with the Distinguished Author in the Specialty Coffee Industry award by the Specialty Coffee Association of America. I have appeared on Fine Living Network's Insider's List series "Kitchen Gadgets" segment and also appeared on Food Network show "Scoop" serving as a judge for a Haagen Dazs reality show in which contestants created a new ice cream flavor.

My work has appeared in several trade magazines as well as Saveur and Consumer's Digest. I am currently working on a book about Relationship Coffee.

When I'm not writing, I am enjoying food with my husband and four children.
