Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to ensuring that all children have access to a quality education. I’ve seen the education field through many lenses--I've been a teacher, reading specialist, choral accompanist, youth program director, curriculum writer and trainer, grant writer, and educational program designer and developer.

Today, I serve as the National Network Director for the National Center on Time and Learning, an organization dedicated to expanding learning time (a.k.a. longer school days) to promote student achievement and enable a well-rounded education for all children. It’s an exciting job, and I'm particularly proud of the work we've done with state and federal leaders to develop public policy strategies to support the redesign of the American school day.

Contributing to Suite101 fulfills my dream of being a published author. In my free time, I enjoy riding my bike in the woods, traveling to exotic places with my partner, and playing catch with my dogs, Zuka and Lula. I’m also an admitted tabloid junkie, a hobby sometimes reflected in my writing.
