Laura Block-Stewart

Hello-

My name is Laura Block-Stewart and I am a professional writer and editor that, throughout the last 14 years, has focused on writing about the health and well-being of children and families. I began writing while obtaining my undergraduate degree and continued while employed as a consultant with a national organization, the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA). Working at CWLA, my responsibilities involved research, consultation, mediation, training and the writing and editing of reports for national, state, and local organizations.

For three years, I was responsible for providing quality and intriguing articles for each issue of Preemie Magazine. I thoroughly enjoyed interviewing, researching and writing feature articles for parents and professionals of premature infants. I was also the assistant editor and was responsible for edits and revisions of all articles submitted for the publication.

At this time, I am currently working both as a mediator and as a freelance writer and editor. Though my heart lies in the field of child welfare, with a BA in Criminology and an MA in Organizational Management, I enjoy writing about a variety of different subjects. I am pleased to begin my second year writing for Suite 101.
