Kristin Krogh - Profile

As a native of Southern California, Kristin has spent the majority of her life basking in seventy degree weather. Wanderlust finally inspired her to try her hand elsewhere and she soon found herself in Hanover, New Hampshire for a few months and Durham, North Carolina for a bit longer. But, when she found herself scraping the ice off her windshield with a Blockbuster membership card one morning, she knew it was time to head home.

Kristin currently resides in San Diego where she works for a non-profit organization that is dedicated to assisting at-risk youth. In the evenings, she works as an English and social studies tutor.

Kristin discovered her intense love of all things literary and historical during her time as an undergraduate at UC San Diego, from which she earned a B.A. in World Literature. The same week that she graduated, she packed up her Toyota Corolla and hit the I-40, headed East (determined to fight the predictable westerly migration). She then spent a grueling, albeit ultimately rewarding, year earning an M.A. in Teaching from Duke.

Teaching and writing are her greatest passions, but she is also quite fond of sarcasm, midnight burritos, road trips, good coffee, and marathons of The West Wing. Kristin dreams of one day writing dialogue for Aaron Sorkin or perhaps going head-to-head with Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas, the competitive eater whom she rivals in size. More realistically, though, she hopes to teach English as a Second Language at a community college sometime in the near future.
