I am a writer and educator living in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Literature from California State University San Bernardino. After working for 10 years as a Group Counselor with the Riverside County Probation Department, I resumed college studies and completed the Master of Arts degree in English, then enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts degree program in Creative Writing at National University, La Jolla. Currently I work as an Academic Administrator and Literature/Composition Instructor with a local college.

I am a member of the National Council of Teachers of English, the Conference on College Composition and Communication, Red Room, and Women on Writing (WOW). I am also a contributor to the open forum of ideas at Open Salon.

Recently I participated in the CCi textbook selection committee for the Introduction to American Literature Pearson Custom Textbook Edition, 2008. In 2007, I was invited to moderate the College English Association's panel on 20th Century American Literature. And my academic presentations include the CEA New Orleans Conference in 2007, the American Literature Association Southern California Conference in 2006, and the CEA Houston conference in 2006. I also have a critical essay published in The Poetry of Walt Whitman: New Critical Perspectives. As an educator/trainer, I organize and present faculty support training sessions, as well as faculty in-service development trainings.

My work in project is Storyteller|Creations, a website designed to promote writing and literacy development.

I write from home, where my husband Dan, daughter Alicia, and Labrador Retrievers Shimmer and Luna provide me with limitless support and love.
