I'm Kathy Quan RN BSN PHN. I received my BSN and Public Health Nurse certificate from California State University Los Angeles and have worked as an RN for over 30 years. My experience has been primarily in home health care as a field nurse, nursing supervisor and a QI (Quality Improvement) specialist.

I have written four books for Adams Media. The Everything New Nurse Book (April 2006) and The Everything Guide to Careers in Health Care (Nov. 2007).

My third book, The Everything Guide to Caring for Aging Parents, was just published in Feb. 2009 along with an update to the New Nurse Book, entitled 150 Tips and Tricks for New Nurses. . I also contributed a chapter to Reflections on Doctors, in the Kaplan Voices Nurses anthology series. (9/2008)
