I'm Kathy Quan RN BSN PHN. I received my BSN and Public Health Nurse certificate from California State University Los Angeles and have worked as an RN for over 30 years. My experience has been primarily in home health care as a field nurse, nursing supervisor and a QI (Quality Improvement) specialist.

I have written four books for Adams Media. The Everything New Nurse Book (April 2006) and The Everything Guide to Careers in Health Care (Nov. 2006). Both are available from Amazon.com and Barnes& Noble.

My third book in this series, The Everything Guide to Caring for Aging Parents, will be published in Feb. 2009, as will an update to the New Nurse Book, entitled 150 Tips and Tricks for New Nurses. These are both availabe for pre-order through Amazon.com.

Currently I also write for several websites outside of Suite101.com including several of my own:

• HomeHealth101.com are primariliy focused on home health care professionals.
• My newest site, The Nursing Site, is where I am moving my content from About.com. I am the former Guide to Nursing at About.com. This site was recently combined into Health Careers and my content eliminated.
• I have contributed to several Booklets and Toolkits, newsletter articles, and other materials for nurses and health care professionals available on SupportForNurses.com
