Keri Honea

Suite101.com Contributing Writer
At A-kon 2007, Keri Honea

Keri Honea is relatively new to the freelancing world. She's mostly written on various blogs to keep up with her writing technique and style, but she's been away from the publication world ever since she graduated from grad school with a technical writing degree. She had a moment of insanity when she thought she wanted to be a lawyer, and then ended up as a litigation paralegal for seven years. Thanks to the arrival of her first born son, she finally said good-bye to the legal world and started her freelancing career.

Since 2005, she's been a copy editor for Kombo.com, a video gaming news website. Every now and then she has written for their round table discussions, but they prefer to keep her as a copy editor due to her extensive education in technical writing. But since she's a gamer and a writer, she can't help but want to write about games, particularly her favorite genre: role-playing games. She has written some game reviews and has started to write about games she would recommend for the gamer mom. Just because a gamer becomes a mom doesn't mean she should give up her beloved video games.

Video games are not her only animated passion. Her TV also runs quite a bit of cartoons, no matter if they are North American cartoons or anime -- she loves them all. Her son will undoubtedly think she's the coolest mom on the block with all of the cartoons she watches and video games she plays.

Keri also has a fantasy novel in the works, but it's been on hold since the birth of her son. As soon as he starts sleeping through the night, she will pick back up her fiction writing pen. She is way behind in her publication race with another fantasy-writing friend.
