After receiving my Master of Arts degree in Journalism Studies from the University of Wales in the UK and returning to Jordan, my intention was to roam the world, covering wars and victories, looking for ordinary folks who, in some way, heroically change the course of time. Political unrest, lack of opportunity, and a love story changed the course of my life. A marriage and three girls later, I spend my days today learning from my children the baffling, evolving, challenging mystery of motherhood.

My latest work includes a monthly column in Viva, a Jordanian women's social magazine published in English. I have also written a series of articles in both English and Arabic for Jordanian newspapers. And after working as a freelance translator, writer, and editor for over six years in Jordan, I co-founded Al Kalima, a company that specializes in content-writing, editing, and translation. Al Kalima has proved a pioneer and has built a very prominent name for itself in Jordan.

These days, having moved to Vancouver BC with my husband and three daughters, we are more aware than ever of the importance of cross-cultural dialogue and respect for diversity. Through my work, I hope to address issues that foster East-West dialogue and give voice to the silent moderate majority in the Middle East. It is vital today that we shatter stereotypes that have alienated peoples around the globe. This can only be achieved through a healthy debate that will ultimately nurture an appreciation of diversity and multi-faith understanding and tolerance.
