Barbara is a freelance technical writer from Edinburgh, Scotland. Alongside feature writing on genetics at Suite101, she is the food editor of The Untrained Housewife, and a book review columnist for a UK skeptical newsletter.
Her work has been published in several newsletters, journals, websites and magazines, including BBC Good Food, Runner’s World, and Mslexia. She has a passion for writing science-fiction and slipstream, which she feeds into bizarre, abstract tales about determinism. Her SF novel tells a tale of isolation, humanity, and what happens when gravity can think for itself.
It’s not just genetics, astronomy, and food that Barbara enjoys, but also aviation, Scandinavian studies, and psychology. A huge fan of endorphins, she enjoys fitness, especially long-distance running. She is currently studying a Masters programme in creative writing, and has no idea what will happen next.
