Kourtney Chalmers

Enticed by the adventures of this world, both large and small, at the age of five I packed a bag and set off to find the end of the long road that connected our home to the rest of civilization, the ending result of which was a ride home in a fire truck. After that memorable day I made a devout promise to fearlessly conquer my curiosities one destination at a time, a pact I have been holding true to ever since.

The drive in myself to explore the wonders of this world consumes me and, although I have traveled throughout almost every state in the US, I find the desire to examine everything that is the beauty and mystery in this world still burns brightly within.

My motto in life has always been “Love it or leave it” and I hold back nothing in my crusade to discover what I am most passionate about and how I can share what I know and have learned with my fellow curious comrades. I believe that to accomplish anything in life you must be passionate about it and have a relentless love for the things that you do and see, because there are so many adventure worthy destinations and events in this world and I personally don’t plan to miss out on any of them!

As for writing, I have been an avid and intent reader and writer since the fourth grade, where Pride and Prejudice stole my heart and sparked a fire I never wish to put out. I began to occupy my days writing essays and poetry as well as absorbing all of the stories and knowledge found in the world of literature.

I have six binders stuffed to their limits with hundreds of short stories and, of course, my poetry as well, some of which is featured on Poetry.com, where I won two awards and an invitation to read my poems at their annual poets convention.

Above all else, I am creative and open minded with a zealous love of learning, and my persistence in my ideas and causes are matched by my desire to share what I have discovered with everyone around me as well as devout readers, such as the ones here on Suite 101. I look forward to writing for this diverse website and exploring the topics of travel, cuisine, music, and fashion with readers as eager as I am.
