Kathleen Airdrie, Kathleen Airdrie

Kathleen’s interest in writing and photography led her to the world of freelance. Her work has been published in the monthly publication, Early Canadian Life and Seasons, the Ontario Naturalist Magazine. Her work has also been published in North Frontenac News and the Record News.

While employed at a community newspaper, she worked at production, proofreading, and editing. She wrote about local issues and events, and covered many of those with her photography.

In one of that paper’s special editions, Heritage Highlights, she presented several articles on the histories of area villages and people. As a result of that work, she became involved in recording personal stories, particularly those of seniors and Native people.

For many years, she worked as staff person and as volunteer with community service and social organizations, often as coordinator and/or secretary, as well as counsellor.

Many of Kathleen's articles on Suite 101 are of historical people, places, and events. She is especially fascinated by the evolution of the theatre. An avid reader, she enjoys the research that’s necessary for her articles about the many aspects of the acting profession and its wonderful cast of characters.

Of special interest to Ms. Airdrie is her garden – her place of exercise and peace. She has published fourteen garden articles with photographs on Suite.
