Karen Lawrence

Karen Lawrence is a freelance writer and administrative consultant based in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. She specializes in nature, spirituality, and well-being topics, and assists independent musicians, writers, artists and small business owners with putting their creative ideas into action. Karen’s articles and photographs have appeared in regional and national magazines such as Spirituality and Health, BackHome, The Herb Quarterly, Florida Gardening and Natural Awakenings. Her professional background includes a stint as an Army Officer and management positions in restaurant and retail.

Karen is currently working on a memoir that merges the latest neuroscientific findings about the impact of meditation and mindfulness training on the brain, memory, and the management of thought disorders with her personal story of recovery from childhood abuse and depression.
