In a particularly yummy Yin yoga class today, we practiced a series of supported backbends. Opening my heart to the ceiling, I realized I needed to let go.
Alicia King currently works full-time for a global software quality assurance and software testing consulting firm in their marketing and communications office. She has been working in the technology industry for over 11 years for companies such as Sema Schlumberger, Accenture, BellSouth and AT&T. With a Bachelor’s degree from Sweet Briar College in Modern Foreign Languages and International Affairs, Alicia speaks Spanish, French, and German in addition to her native English. She also holds a graduate translation certification in Spanish from Georgia State University. Alicia has been writing for Suite 101 since June of 2007. For over a year, she was the Featured Writer for the Suite section about Mind/Body Fitness, and a large number of her articles focus on Yoga, Pilates and other forms of Mind/Body workouts and health issues. The blog posts available are also related to this topic. Recently, she asked her editors to allow her to become a Contributing Writer for Suite 101 in order to focus her energy on other pursuits. Because Alicia takes an active interest in a wide variety of activites – from yoga to biking, from fixing up her house to baking wheat-free, she enjoys the freedom to write on any number of topics! |
