I have written from the age of oh I don't know when, but it seems like a long time now; at the age of 8 years I was the proud winner of a school writing competition. This I consider was my first paid job – The prize was 2/6d (pre-decimal) now 12.5 pence in savings stamps and a certificate. I still have the certificate but the money went a long time ago.
Having spent 30 years as a nurse at all levels of the British NHS and university systems my main area of expertise is health related articles, particularly sexual health and the history of medicine and nursing.
But philately, travel, hotel, restaurant and spa reviews also feature large in my print writing.
I now live and work in Thailand and have written extensively on Thailand and its attractions for tourists and expats.
I am a regular contributor to Asian lifestyle magazines: Expatweekend Thailand, Hua Hin Weekend, Expatweekend Singapore and have a monthly men's health column in SPICE magazine. I am an 'honorary editor' to the BNH Hospital in Bangkok, and semi official press release writer for a major five star hotel in Bangkok.
My newspaper, magazine and e-zine articles have been pubished in the UK, the USA, Ireland, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.
