Joelle Godwin

Joelle Godwin's love of reading and writing spawned her freelance career. She writes nonfiction as well as fiction, and occasionally posts blogs on friends' sites.

She earned her BA in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her MAEd in Special Education from East Carolina University. Joelle's been a special education classroom teacher, itinerant teacher, and instructor and adviser for pre-service teachers at the college level, where she taught fourteen classes, in person and online. In addition, she also ran her own successful private tutoring and educational consulting business for four years, concentrating on students with learning disabilities.

In January 2009, she attended the prestigious Writers in Paradise conference, honing her skills writing short fiction. She is currently at work on her first fiction novel. She enjoys researching and writing about education, home improvement, travel, and fiction, all which balance her life with her husband, young daughter, and hound dog. When she's not working, she loves finding and making chocolate desserts, watching foreign films, and learning to in-line skate.
