Joann DiMatteo

I have most recently "taken up the pen" (or keyboard, as is more accurate). I cannot remember when I was not enamored of words. Spoken, written or sung I am always drawn to their music. I am excited to be contributing to Suite101 in my widest area of expertise: all things food.

I am a trained professional chef and currently own a catering company. Over my 25 year span I have worked in almost every area of the food business. I was first "called" to the kitchen after a brief server stint in a very fun restaurant/club. I began to cook there and have never stopped.

By necessity I am a business woman, by nature an artist. My hobbies include reading,writing, movies, music (before I "found" cooking I owned a record store, for all of those that remember records), jewelry making, interior design and travel.

I look forward to bringing enjoyable, interesting information to Suite101 readers.
