Freelance writing is my fourth career, so to speak. I started my working life as an architect, having graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, but found myself more technically inclined and decided to go into computer science. I was graduated from Boston University with a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and spent 20 years in the computer industry. When the Internet bubble burst, I decided to pursue what I thought would be a more stable career of teaching. I received from license from Massachusetts in Math and Instructional Technology and have spent the past four years teaching computer technology to middle and high school students.
When I was unable to obtain a position for this academic year, I decided to substitute teach and fill in the remaining time with writing, something I have always enjoyed doing, even when it was a proposal or user guide for work or an assignment from my last degree in Education. I have yet to make it profitable but am able to write about many topics in various formats. Prose, curricula, proposals and non-fiction are probably my fortes but I hope my experience will branch into much more.
