A 15-year-plus veteran of the tourism industry, Jennifer's career path began during college when she followed the hiking path in Yellowstone National Park. Upon graduating from SUNY Brockport with a degree in Earth Science, a summer job turned into a 10-year career with a park management company, working in Death Valley, Everglades and Yellowstone National Parks. Craving civilization (and home delivered pizza), she now lives in Port Charlotte, Fla., and works within Florida’s tourism industry. Travel has led her to traditional places as New York, Boston, and Vancouver, recent travels have led her to Afghanistan, Cuba, and Japan to understand the cultures and issues. But what she most enjoys is discovering the quirky, offbeat attractions of the Southeastern United States. Her writings have appeared in The Apalachee Tortoise, The Mercer County Chronicle, Orlando Sentinel, and Southwest Florida Parrot. She maintains a blog at www.QuirkyKitschGirl.com with musings about travel, life and all things promising bragging rights. She will be launching www.SoloTravelGirl.com the Summer of 2009 with musings about solo travel. A bit of a geek, she is listed among the Top 50 Travel Twitterers You Should Follow. |
