As a registered dietitian with a Master’s degree in health and nutrition communications, I have fostered a dual career in journalism and counseling. I am currently contributing editor to the Journal of Women's Health, preparing a monthly special feature, “Conversation with the Experts,” geared to practitioners. I've edited 2 food related books: The Laptop Lunch User’s Guide. (T. Morning Run Press. 2002.) and On Your Way To Fitness: A practical guide to achieving and maintaining healthy weight and physical fitness. C. Everett Koop Foundation (1995). I provide nutrition counseling for children, adults, and families, focusing on the fitness minded as well as those needing weight management guidance and medical nutrition therapy support. My greatest joy is working with women from pregnancy through the introduction of food to their children. I volunteer as chair of the Health Care Reform working group for BluewaveNJ, a progressive grassroots organization, and I author a nutrition news and tips blog, Feeding Kids and You. Finally, I write about high conflict divorce in an effort to raise awareness of a system that fails our children and out of a desire to help others who might benefit from my experiences and mistakes as well as to share insights from the many divorced women I have been meeting along with way.
