I am a reporter and copy editor living in the beautiful Seacoast area of New Hampshire who is fascinated by how many stories there are in the world. I started my college education as a theatre major at the University of New Hampshire. I turned my focus to journalism after a one-off reporting assignment for the university newspaper that got me hooked, and graduated with a B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Theatre Performance. While still involved with/dabbling in improv comedy and the arts, I have spent the last several years as a reporter for Foster's Daily Democrat, a family-owned daily based out of Dover. My first-person feature article "Is 7 the new 16?", which examines how girls are dressing older than their age starting at younger and younger ages, has been nominated to the New England Press Association, the New England Associated Press News Executives Association and the New Hampshire Press Association. I now work in an editing position for an investment firm in downtown Portsmouth, but continue to freelance and investigate the new ideas surrounding me each day. I also spend my free time enjoying the great outdoors in the White Mountains either rock climbing, hiking, or camping. Or all three. |
